In 2007 Dee Dee Anders graduated from Cortiva Institute-Muscular Therapy Institute in Watertown, MA, a 900 hour program which provides an in-depth training in Muscular Therapy and is known for its therapists to practice with the highest of ethical standards. Coursework included anatomy, kinesiology, physiology and pathology and hands-on technique courses in: Muscular Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), Myofascial Release (MFR) and sports massage. She has supplemented her studies with continuing education in CranioSacral Therapy, Precision Neuromuscular Therapy, Active Isolated Stretching, Muscle Release Technique and ethics, among others.
Dee Dee's sessions are client-focused and tailored to the clients' individual needs. Therapeutic and deep tissue massages employ Muscular Therapy enhanced with myofascial, neuromuscular, Swedish and sports techniques all blended to assist the client in relaxation, tension reduction and the opportunity to reconnect with their body. Self-care activities, which can be practiced at home, are offered to clients at the end of each massage to assist in relieving tension between massage appointments.
Dee Dee is Board Certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).
Muscular Therapy is a bodywork system that incorporates Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial, and friction therapies and was developed by Dr. Ben Benjamin in the 1960's. A deep understanding of anatomy enables the practitioner to treat a variety of pain and injury.
